Ascot Renewco Strengthens Team

Ascot Underwriting is delighted to announce that its renewable energy division, Ascot Renewco, has further strengthened its team with the appointments of Professor Leon Freris and Capt. Peter Hodgetts to its Management Board.

Commenting on their appointments, Martin Reith, Chief Executive Officer of Ascot Underwriting Ltd. said, “The renewable energy sector embraces an incredibly diverse range of technologies and operating environments, and the industry backdrop is constantly evolving. These appointments demonstrate our commitment to ensuring that our sector-wide knowledge base and skillsets are second-to-none.”

Professor Freris was instrumental in the formation of CREST (Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technology) at Loughborough University in 1995. He is a founding member of the British Wind Energy Association and Fellow of the Institute of Engineering and Technology, and widely acclaimed as an authority and much published author in the renewable energy sector.

Captain Peter Hodgetts is the founder and Operations Director for SeaRoc UK, who are marine and engineering specialists engaged exclusively in marine renewables. Peter is a Master Mariner and Mechanical Engineer with a long and extensive experience in offshore construction.

Martin Reith added, “Both Leon and Peter have a wealth of experience and will be hugely useful to us. I am delighted they have agreed to be consultants to Ascot Renewco and join our Management Board. Our clients and their brokers can expect a level of technological understanding and risk appreciation that will set new standards.”
