Alex joined Ascot Renewco in 2008. Previously he was Chief Underwriter and Principal officer of Ascot Asia. Alex came to Ascot from Benfield Corporate Risk where he led their successful launch into Australia and the Asia Pacific region. Prior that he was a Senior Vice President and Managing Principal with Marsh, responsble for their Pacific region Energy Practice.

Roger has over 30 years experience in the market, previously with Prudential, Axa Re and Axa Corporate Solutions. He started his career as a Fire & Accident Surveyor, then moved into underwriting in the Engineering, Construction, and Mining classes. In recent years he has specialised in Power & Utilities where he has gained a thorough understanding of all forms of power generation including renewable energy.

Warren joined Ascot Renewco in the build up to its launch in August 2007. Since this time he has worked to establish Ascot Renewco as a leader in the renewable energy insurance sector, with responsibility for growing the renewable energy book of business. Warren has 12 years of industry experience, previously working with Marsh in London and Perth, Australia, where he led their climate change initiative for Europe, Middle East and Asia Pacific. During this time he worked closely with Marsh’s Renewable Energy Team, focusing on new product development for wind, biomass and geothermal technologies. He was also the project manager for several consultancy assignments with the UNEP, which focused on risk management instruments available to support renewable energy projects. Warren has worked closely with a range of clients including project developers, financiers, traders and other specialist insurers in the areas of climate change and renewable energy. Warren has a bachelors degree in Environmental Science and a masters degree in Sustainable Development.

Neil has seven years experience in the insurance industry, covering aggregation and property underwriting. He gained renewable energy experience through his work on the Ascot Property team and has joined Ascot Renewco to focus on the needs of renewable energy operations.

Lee has over 24 years of insurance experience and is our Chief Underwriter and Principal Officer for Ascot Asia. He joined Ascot in 2001 and was our Senior Underwriter for Cargo until he moved to Singapore in 2008 to lead Ascot Asia.

John began his insurance career with eight years in the London market. He has spent the past 14 years in the Houston market, principally designing energy programmes. John joined Ascot in 2007 as President and Chief Underwriting Officer for Ascot Underwriting Inc.
Professor Freris has a BSc, an MSc and a PhD in Electrical Engineering from the University of London and a DIC from Imperial College. Formerly head of the power systems section in the department of Electrical Engineering of Imperial College, in 1995 he joined Loughborough University and was instrumental in setting up CREST (Centre for Renewable Energy Systems Technology), now one the leading international centres in the field of renewable energy, with an international reputation both in research and education. His research interests have latterly revolved around renewable energy technologies in general and the electrical aspects of wind power systems in particular. With a number of publications to his name, his consultancies have included UNESCO, EU, OECD, the British Council and a number of industrial companies, while for a number of years he was a visiting professor at the University of Lausanne. He is a founding member of the British Wind Energy Association and a Fellow of the Institution of Engineering and Technology.
Captain Hodgetts is a Master Mariner and mechanical engineer with a lifetime of experience in offshore construction and marine projects and more than 6 years specifically in marine renewables. He is the founder and Chief Executive of SeaRoc UK, who are Marine and Engineering specialists engaged exclusively in marine renewables and heavily involved in the whole process from site selections, developing functional specifications, environmental assessment surveys, as well as the actual construction of several of the offshore wind farms. SeaRoc have been responsible for the engineering coordination for the 500MW Greater Gabbard Offshore wind farm and will continue with the responsibility for all Marine and Construction operations. Peter’s experience also encompasses a number of the Wave & Tidal device developers.
